Post - communist art/@ APEX

This was a pretty interesting lecture/ panel discussion by two artists from former communist regions in Europe. The discussion brought some interesting points and quite connected to my personal upbringing and culture. .. all I can say is- events like this can only make me love NYC even more, connecting me better with that part of the world- where I come from.

Guggenheim

Louise Bourgeois's exhibit just opened last Thursday. It is pretty amazing and worth seeing. Her feminist stands are pretty direct:) As a 96 years old artist, some of her earlier work was not my favorite but as you get to the top of the museum the show revealed some amazing work and installations. Few of my favorite pieces had writing incorporated into them. Some were standing structures re-creating living environments, inclosed with old doors, intensely psychological. I just wish that one day I will be a 96 year old woman artist living in Europe and NY and still making work every day...
